Our seasonal apple and bees day. We will be joined by the East of England Apples and Orchards Project and the Friends of Cressing Temple and together we will have apple juicing and apple ID and apple themed activities for children. Local beekeepers will have a display hive and will explain the complex life of bees and honey production. We will also have the Gardens’ famous Jam tombola, apple cake tasting and a range of other stalls. Essex Wildlife Trust will also be with us.
Music – for singing and dancing along to – will be provided by Bishop’s Stortford Ukelele Society at 1.00pm and 2.15pm.
Advance tickets are available here, which ensure speedier entry or visitors can pay at the Gate. Season ticket holders and Friends of the Gardens will get priority parking.
Locally sourced bacon, cheese or hummus rolls; homemade cakes; and hot and cold drinks will be available until they run out – or till 4.30pm.
Garden produce and merchandise , plants and crafts, including willow weaving and coppicing, will be available for sale.
