The first full season Open Day and the opportunity to enjoy the trees coming into leaf at the Gardens and the fruit blossom in the walled kitchen garden. Visitors will be able to see the new trees planted over the winter, particularly in the Glade, where we have planted many trees donated by the renowned arboriculturalist Henry Girling. The daffodils, tulips and a variety of other wild and cultivated flowers bring colour across the Gardens. This year the PTES is organising the first national Orchard Blossom Day and visitors to our walled kitchen garden will be challenged to identify the fruit trees and pollinators. Gates Open 11.00 am. Tickets can be purchased in advance, here. Tickets can also be purchased on the Gate after 12.00pm.

There will be a range of stalls, including a plant stall, a local wood turner, crafts and jams; and we will be joined by the Woodland Trust and Essex Wildlife Trust.

And we will be joined by Bishop’s Stortford Ukelele Society for some lively music!!

Our volunteers will provide locally sourced bacon, cheese or hummus rolls; homemade cakes; and hot and cold drinks  until they run out – or till 4.00pm.

Garden produce and merchandise will be available for sale, hopefully, including our rhubarb.

More information is on our visitor information page.
