We hope you like it!

Our redesigned website brings you a wealth of up to date photos of the Gardens, and we will now be able to change them readily as we continue to restore the Gardens. The web redesign was carried out for us by a local young entrepreneur and with part funding from Stansted Airport Passenger Community Fund. Our thanks go to both!

What a year 2017 has been, with record numbers of visitors and a huge contribution from volunteers to bring them record amounts of cake and bacon rolls, and a great range of entertainment on open days. Our gardening volunteers have extended the tended area in the Walled Kitchen Garden and brought fabulous colour to it and a huge range of fruit and vegetables. We have made a feature of the rill in the Glade again and started planting up a stumpery.

So we can now plan and prepare for 2018 and you can too – as next year’s dates are here. Go to Visit Us and you can put them directly into your diary!

Measuring Up

The old viewing platform has a view but not much else!

The off-season will see it rebuilt, so once again visitors can dawdle there, watch the coots build their nests, admire the water lilies, and if they are lucky, perhaps see someone from Dunmow Fishing Club land a fish!

The Gardens are looking beautiful in their autumn colours, so it’s not yet time to start raking leaves –  instead we made a start taking out surplus plants to make room for new ones next year.
