Frances and Steven from Essex Bat Group will be leading a bat walk at the Gardens.
Our monitoring exercise in June 2017 found 7 of the ten bat species known to live in Essex were hunting/flying through our Gardens. We believe bats are struggling this year, because of the poor weather and low numbers of insects. So the monitoring exercise is important to test this – we would love to find that many of the species we have previously identified are still living and/or feeding in the Gardens.
Monitoring devices provided.

PLEASE NOTE THE EVENT WILL NOT GO AHEAD IF IT IS RAINING AS BATS DO NOT GO OUT AND ABOUT IN THE WET!
