August open day

A month to celebrate our trees – our national champion apple tree, our 9 county champions and our other many and varied trees, large and small. Den building for children, in the Lime Wood. A local bonsai collection will be on display and local coppicers and a local wood turner will show and have on sale their wood products. There will be jam, honey, plants, crafts and garden produce on sale. We will be joined by Essex Wildlife Trust, the Woodland Trust and the RSPB.

Music will be provided by Woodwind of Stortford, playing at 1.00 and 2.30pm.

TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE HERE. Season ticket holders and Friends of the Gardens will get priority parking. Advance tickets not required for visitors arriving after 1.00pm. Detailed arrangements will be in place to provide for social distancing around Daisy’s catering outlet and the loos; and to provide hand sanitizer in appropriate places.

Locally sourced bacon, cheese or hummus rolls; homemade cakes; and hot and cold drinks will be available until they run out – or till 4.30pm.
