The Trust plans to open the Gardens for visitors to enjoy the snowdrops on SUNDAY 15 FEBRUARY, THURSDAY 19 FEBRUARYand SUNDAY 22 FEBRUARY. On Snowdrop Sundays the Gardens will open from 11.00-4.00pm. On the Snowdrop Thursday the Gardens will open from 11.00 to 3.00pm and the gardens of Warwick House will not be open to the public.
Snowdrops flourish under the trees at the front of the Gardens, in the walled kitchen garden and the Glade. Many of the common single and double blooms were planted in Victorian times or before; and the Trust has added many more.
Children will love the new animal trail in the Garden, the treehouse and the elephant statue.
Snowdrops in the green and and snowdrop merchandise on sale.
Hot food will be provided by The Giggly Pig – bacon, sausage and burger rolls. The Trust’s volunteers will provide vegetarian soup, cheese and hummus rolls, as well as homemade cakes, hot and cold drinks until 2.30pm or until they run out!
Adult entry £6.00 if bought in advance – or £7.50 on the gate. Advance tickets will be on sale from mid December. Children under 16 FREE. Dogs on leads welcome.
We hope that the snowdrops will be at their best on these planned Open Days, but of course they are weather dependent and may start to flower and be past their best earlier or later, with other spring flowers also affected.
Advance tickets will be refunded if the Trust has to decide the Gardens cannot open, due to a significant risk to visitors and volunteers, for example from adverse weather or very poor ground conditions.
