Our grapes in the walled kitchen garden are large and sweet – perfect for juicing on 20 September at our Apple and Bees Day. That will add to our juicing of apples and pears, tasting of apple and honey cakes and jam and jelly tombola. We have lots to enjoy lined up for the day.
And our volunteers are working hard to make sure the Gardens look at their best too. Now that it has rained, the grass and dahlias are growing, so they will provide colour as well as the lavender and roses which have been splendid throughout the drought and heat. And we have been gathering and planting seeds in the kitchen garden, to ensure a colourful spring!
