At our Open Day this Sunday, 14 June we take time to remember the men and women involved in the World Wars – and the forecast is for the sun to return, so it should be a lovely day for visitors. The poppies in the wildflower spiral in the walled kitchen garden are such a poignant reminder of the lives lost, and despite the rain today we managed to put in place new information boards in the memorial area in the Glade.
Volunteers planted up more vegetables into the kitchen garden and we managed to get a few tidying jobs done, getting soaked in the process. So, the Gardens are looking good; the Cake of the Month is being baked…(and all the other lovely cakes too!!); and there should be some produce for sale.
