Very observant visitors to the Gardens today spotted this green butterfly on one of the rose bushes in the kitchen garden and identified it as a Green Hairstreak. It didn’t hang around, maybe looking for a better place to call home – it likes broom and gorse, which we can’t provide. Later in the afternoon we had our first sighting this year of a hummingbird hawkmoth. What a joy the day was; and we got some work done too!
