On a lovely sunny September day, what could be nicer than having the time to tend the roses and edge the bed. The grass has mostly greened up again now that we have had a little rain and the dahlia border and Italian garden are bouncing back. Some of the trees have lost their leaves early due to the drought, but others were looking gorgeous today, against the deep blue autumnal sky. And then the heavens opened again. The joys of gardening!
