What a relief to be able to tend the Gardens without roasting! In the Italian Garden and the walled kitchen garden there is lots of cutting back and deadheading to do at this time of year, to ensure the flowers keep on coming for our visitors to enjoy. And when the rain cleared today, it was lovely to get the Garden Games out and watch children playing with the Jenga, Connect 4 and draughts. Summer pruning of the fruit trees continued and lots of vegetables were picked so visitors could buy some for their supper.
