Wasn’t April lovely?

With such gorgeous weather the Gardens are looking beautiful – these peonies are particularly blousy. The Italian garden is looking fresh and colourful, and in the walled kitchen garden the herb bed is a mass of flower and the first poppy has opened in the wildflower spiral. The downside of March and April’s warmth is that volunteers are having to spend much of their time watering the plants and new trees. Hopefully we will get some overnight rain to dampen the ground and replenish the well.
