A happy new year

What a gorgeous day to start the new year at the Gardens! We gathered up the twigs brought down by the latest high winds (no big boughs had come down); cut back the autumn raspberries; and started on the January jobs of pruning the apples and pears and renewing the fencing around the work compound.

In the sunshine it was lovely and warm, but it was chill in the shade. There are a few snowdrops up and ready to flower, but most are not so advanced….our fingers are firmly crossed for a good snowdrop season!
