The Italian Garden and walled kitchen garden were really hot today – so, volunteers balanced heavy work like banking up the potatoes and preparing veg beds with lighter work in the shade!
The Gardens are looking lush with this sunshine and warmth following on from recent rain. The laburnum walk is dripping golden flowers and the handkerchiefs are wafting on their branches. Acers’ lime green leaves contrast with purple rhododendrons at the bottom of the Glade. The Italian Garden’s first roses punctuate its spring greens and the Viburnum Opulus Roseum is the star of the reworked Warwick Corner. Foxgloves are coming out all around the Gardens and alliums won’t be far behind. Beautiful!
