Our volunteers have been cleaning the treehouse so it will be sparkling for the Apple and Bees Day on 25 September!  Others were tidying around the Gardens: cutting back, hoeing and weeding.

And at last, no watering is needed! Now it has rained, our deadheading is really encouraging more flowers on the dahlia border and the roses and, of course, there are Michaelmas daisies and sedum, bringing a range of lovely late colours to the Italian Garden and the walled kitchen garden. The grass is mostly green again and cyclamen are also popping up around the Gardens.  Some of the trees are beginning to get their autumn hues, while other plants are clearly thoroughly confused and are forming fresh leaf buds, having previously shriveled in the heat!
