A ray of sunshine

Despite the cold weather, there are a few signs of spring being on its way. The Mahonia is beautiful and sweet and the viburnam is also beginning to flower in the Japanese garden; a few primroses are flowering in the woodland; and bulbs are pushing up their leaves across the Gardens.

The wet weather in the autumn, and in December in particular, has set back some of our essential winter maintenance, but has filled the lilypond at last. The Gardens are now drying out and we hope to get more essential work done as and when we can get volunteers back into the Gardens.
