Veg aplenty

It was so lovely to greet our first visitors to the Gardens since lockdown eased and to have a good selection of veg on offer for them. Our volunteers enjoyed the opportunity to chat to the visitors as they explored the Gardens. Maybe the sun will also shine more consistently on next week’s open Thursday.

The Gardens were looking lovely despite somewhat inclement weather and there were lots of butterflies and bumble bees and honey bees out and about. The rains have helped the veg and soft fruit to plump up and the dahlia border was huge this week compared to last week – so there was lots of dead heading for Sam and Richard to do.

We also had our first in person management committee meeting – suitably socially distanced. There was lots of planning to be done, to ensure we have the right arrangements in place for the first full open day on 19 July.
