Haircuts for our trees!

Our trees are allowed haircuts even if we are still not! The tree-surgeons were reducing the crown in this large bifurcated red oak at the bottom of the Glade to reduce the risk of it losing big branches and improve its health and longevity. They also tidied hangers and removed a few small dead trees. They have not taken down the last remaining dead elm as there may be a bat roost in it – Essex Bat Group are going to check it for us.

Meanwhile Sue spent the whole volunteer day in waders, cleaning weed from the water lily pond in the Italian garden; while others cracked on with weeding in the flower borders.
