Roger’s parks management skills are legendary – and no doubt this leaf mould will fall precisely where wanted!! Leaf mould bins and compost bins were dug out today and the lovely mulches were distributed where they are needed most – particularly around roses! So we made space to refill the bins and then started filling them – with fallen apples, and other stuff from clearing beds.
There was also creative gardening – division of perennial plants and taking and planting hundreds of lavender cuttings – before rain stopped work!
There are a huge range of jobs to do this closed season, but we won’t mind if there’s also more rain, as the Gardens are enjoying it and the lily pond is still needing more to refill it.
