As good as new

Margaret is doing a fantastic job, painstakingly cleaning up and filling the holes in our mosaic-top tables. The mosaics have a range of lovely designs and were created over 15 years ago by Anne Schwegmann-Fielding working with students from Helena Romanes school – and for one table, working with visitors to the Gardens! This one is of carp, another has a bee and there are snowdrop designs too. With the old discoloured varnish removed and new pieces inserted, they positively sparkle!

On a hot indian summer’s day, many volunteers put in a lot more hard graft clearing the woodland area; with others deadheading the dahlias and weeding and removing self sown seedlings. We started preparations for the Apple and Bee Open Day, labelling jams and jellies for the tombola stall.
