The Gardens are blooming and looking fabulous; perfect for Sunday’s Open Day, when we celebrate the nature in our Gardens.
This shield bug was enjoying the sunshine on a rose leaf; the bumble bees were out in force, particularly enjoying the rosemary; and I saw my first damsel fly of the season in the walled kitchen garden too.
The Italian garden is looking spectacular and the lupins should colour up just in time for the open day. A stroll down the Glade now rewards with two new Japanese features: a bridge, now a lovely shade of red; and a Japanese garden near to where Peto’s tea-house used to sit out onto the fishing lake. The vegetables in the walled garden are planted out for the growing season and the fruit are set on the trees; and the flowers and herbs are enjoying the season.
