Roger, Rod and David made great progress on the new bridge over the rill in the Gardens this week; and Claire went off to buy the paint for the finishing touches. Unfortunately it is not quite ready in time for the Open Day this Sunday.
But elsewhere the Gardens are looking colourful and inviting for visitors. There are tulips, peonies and the first helianthemums; and wildflowers aplenty – bluebells; cowslips and of course daisies! In the Glade acers, magnolia and rhododendrums add to the fresh greens. Steve has planted out more veg good and early in the walled kitchen garden and there is lots of fragrant growth in the herb garden; while seedlings are poking up too.
