Dahlias need their own collective noun, so how about this one? Through the drought they were pretty, but now they are revived they look splendid in early autumn sunshine – hasn’t Sam done well!

We made great strides today in tidying for the Apple Day on Sunday 16 September – clearing in the Italian Garden, tidying the rough areas in the Glade, grass cutting and dead-heading the dahlias and lavender in the walled kitchen garden. So by the end of the day you could see what we had achieved and the Gardens were looking beautiful.
