And some reached the bowl too! We have had a really good crop this year, perhaps due to the hot weather, so there will be jam and jelly on the tombola stall this September. The early heavy rains after the drought brought down a stem of the trunk, probably because it was diseased, but apparently this is typical of mulberries and a substantial tree remains. What it might do though is encourage us to plant another so we are doubly sure there will be mulberries for our great-grandchildren too!!
The visitor season has continued, as the Gardens have returned to their normal lush green, with more Group visits from U3A and a local Dementia group. So, spread the word that the last two Open Days of the season will be on September 16 and October 14. You might also want to see and share Great Little Break‘s write-up of the Gardens, with a lovely photo by volunteer Sophie.
