Our first open day of the season and an opportunity to enjoy a relaxed stroll around the Gardens, to enjoy the daffodils, tulips and blossom, and to see progress on restoring the lilypond balustrade – hopefully in spring sunshine. There will be a plant stall and, hopefully, we will have some of our rhubarb on sale.
We will be joined by our beekeepers, Essex Wildlife Trust and local coppicers, who will have hazel plant supports for sale and the Woodland Trust.
To support social distancing visitors need to buy tickets in advance and we will be limiting ticket numbers. Season ticket holders, Friends of the Gardens and visitors with disability will get priority parking. Detailed arrangements will be in place to provide for social distancing around Daisy’s catering outlet and the loos; and to provide hand sanitizer in appropriate places.
Locally sourced bacon, cheese or hummus rolls; homemade cakes; and hot and cold drinks will be available until they run out – or till 4.30pm.
Garden produce and merchandise and plants will be available for sale.
