Our celebration of apples and orchard produce in our Walled Kitchen garden. We invite visitors to press juice and taste it and a wide selection of apple and honey cakes and other produce. There should also be garden produce for sale.
The East of England Apples and Orchard Project will be on hand to show heritage varieties of fruit and will help visitors identify the variety of their own apples. Saffron Walden Beekeepers will also join us and show how their bees live and make honey in their hive. And the Essex Austin 7 Club will provide a display of their vintage cars.
Children’s activities will also be apple/bee related!
We hope visitors will be able to enjoy the early autumn warmth in the Walled Kitchen garden; and whiling away the afternoon singing along to the toons of the Bishop’s Stortford Ukelele Society.
