“a wonderful private tour of this special place – and with delicious cakes!”
We are delighted to offer groups of 10 or more visitors the opportunity to come to the Gardens for a private tour. Snowdrop tours in February are particularly popular. Group visits can also be arranged specifically to see daffodils in March, the periploca in bloom in June or dahlias in the late summer/autumn; or to tie in with one of our public open days.
Local groups, tour groups and visitors from as far afield as the USA and Germany have visited us, as a day-trip or within a wider tour of East Anglia. Group visits are by arrangement and we can accommodate most days of the week on request.
Group visit fees for 2021 are £8.50 per person and visits last approximately two hours. They include:
- entrance to the Gardens
- a fascinating talk by one of our experienced guides, who will educate and enthral you with stories about the history of the Gardens, past inhabitants of Easton Lodge, including the Countess of Warwick, and the USAAF and RAF stationed on the Great Dunmow airfield next to the Gardens
- self-guided tour, using the Garden Guide and map
- morning or afternoon tea/coffee and delicious homemade cakes
Group visitors must follow government guidelines on social distancing. Although we welcome group visits of 10 or more, current government regulations mean that during your visit to the Gardens your group must split into smaller groups of no more than 6 from entering the Gardens. Visitors must provide track and trace details and our QR code is available for those using the NHS app.
We regularly update our visitor information and the underlying COVID risk assessment to ensure we are operating in line with government regulations and will inform booked-in Groups of any changes which may impact on their visit.
To check availability or to find out more information, either call 01371 876979 or email [email protected] or apply via the contact form on the right.
Groups smaller than 10 in number will be subject to a minimum charge of £85.
Please note the grounds of Warwick House are not included in the tour.
