The dahlias are filling out at last

The dahlia border is looking colourful now and there are a lot more pompoms and decorative dahlias to come – we are hopeful Sam might win Gold again for her dahlias at the Countess of Warwick show! The cut flower border is really bright too. Elsewhere in the walled kitchen garden, the grapevine is rampant on the wall and covered with bunches of grapes; while in the vegetable beds the squashes are taking off too: butternuts; Jack-be-littles; and tromboncinos now have fruits.

The Italian Garden is looking as good as ever, so it was lovely to welcome a good number of visitors today.
