What a glorious day

Today, nineteen volunteers enjoyed getting the Gardens ready for this Sunday’s Apple and Austin Open Day . By the end of the day, the lavender had been bagged and the jam labelled ready for the tombola. The Italian Garden was looking serene in the sunshine, weeded, deadheaded and ready for visitors. The walled kitchen garden was spruced up too, with the grass and edges cut and the borders tidied. The fruit and veg were ready for a “big pick” early on Sunday morning, so they will be as fresh as they can be. And of course, very importantly, Daisy’s is spotless, so is ready for serving bacon/cheese rolls and delicious homemade cakes!
