Broad-bodied chasers and blue damselflies

Although busy with volunteers and a team from GSK and a group of U3A visitors, the Gardens were tranquil today, with hares in the Glade and dragonflies and damselflies darting around.

Each week there are different colours in the Italian Garden – and more planting and weeding will allow others to come through. At the top of the Glade the laburnum walk is still looking magnificent and the cornus and other new shrubs in the winter walk have reappeared, now the grass around them has been cut back.  In the walled kitchen garden, Sam planted row upon row of dahlias, which will make a fabulous rainbow border.
