New trees for the Glade

February is a time for tree-planting: so we have been planting flowering cherries and an acer near the rill that we think was part of Peto’s Japanese gardens. A golden rain tree is waiting its turn to be planted to replace one lost a while ago. February is also when to prune fuschias – and Ed found we had quite a lot of those!

Elsewhere, volunteers cleared up from the fantastic first Snowdrop Open Day last Sunday and prepped for the second (and last), this coming Sunday, 25 February: snowdrops were dug up from their nursery bed and Daisy’s kiosk was cleaned thoroughly again and restocked.
